Earlier this month, teams from both Hokusei Products in Japan and Hokusei North America in Portland met in Southern California. The purpose of the trip was to research potential new business opportunities related to metals recycling.

With this objective in mind, the joint Hokusei group held meetings with businesses that have experience in recycling scrap aluminum and copper materials. One of these visits included a tour of a copper scrapyard, processing, and foundry facility. Another stop in California included a company that is known for recycling airplane parts into luggage tags and other novelty items.

The Hokusei teams learned quite a bit during this trip and are looking forward to applying their newly-found knowledge to future projects.
