Hokusei North America is pleased to announce that it will sponsor the Portland Japanese Garden’s “Behind the Shoji – Hokkaido Marketplace” event. This event will be held at the Japanese Garden from August 3 ~ September 15, 2019, and will celebrate the 60-year sister city relationship between Portland and Sapporo (Hokkaido’s capital city).
An ongoing series hosted by the Portland Japanese Garden, this year’s Behind the Shoji event will feature products and handicrafts made by Hokkaido artisans. For the first time, this year’s event will also feature food — wine made in Hokkaido. Most products will be available for purchase at the Portland Japanese Garden’s gift shop.
Hokusei North America worked with the Portland Japanese Garden to select and import products from some of the finest craftspeople in Hokkaido — it is an honor to a part of such a event strengthening the bonds between Oregon and Japan.
