In early February, members of the Hokusei Products (Japan) team traveled to the US for a number of important meetings. Shotaro Tomita (Hokusei Products CEO) and Yurie Wata (Hokusei Products Manager) spent roughly one week between the Greater Portland and Greater Los Angeles areas.
The purpose of their visit was to deepen relationships with a number of players, including Japanese and Ecuadorean companies that also made the trip to Portland, in joined hopes of identifying new trade opportunities in Oregon. This included a visit to Oregon Fruit Company’s facilities in Salem, as well as inter-company planning meetings held at Hokusei North America’s office in Portland. These inter-company meetings were continued in Southern California toward the end of Mr. Tomita’s and Ms. Wata’s trip to the US.
After hours, Hokusei staff and their business partner companies enjoyed Portland’s food & beverage scene, including a visit to Steeplejack, a local craft brewery located inside a renovated church.
We at Hokusei North America were very grateful for the visit by our Japanese colleagues, and look forward the time we see them again.
