Hokusei Products in Japan has been invited to speak at a Japanese brewers’ seminar to be held on September 13 in Tokyo. Entitled, the “Oregon Brewing Ingredients Seminar”, this event will be hosted by the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA) and the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

The purpose of the event is to introduce Japanese professional brewers and cider makers to various made in Oregon ingredients for use in Japanese beers and ciders. To discuss such topics as yeast and hop biotransformation, a number of guest speakers will make the trip to Japan, to speak in front of a roughly 100-person audience.

During the seminar, Hokusei Products’ Yurie Wata will speak to the attendees about the advantages of using purees from Oregon Fruit Company (OFC), to make fruited beers and ciders. To demonstrate the flavors made possible by fruit purees, beers using OFC’s products will be served to the brewer and cider maker audience.  Also, Ms. Wata will be serving samples of puree itself, and answer questions about its use.
