During the month of December, there are a number of events held in Portland to celebrate the Holiday Season. Some of the best know Portland Christmas activities include the lighting of the massive Christmas Tree in Pioneer Square, the Christmas Ship Parade, Zoo Lights, The Festival of Lights at the Portland Grotto, and visiting Peacock Lane.
However, perhaps one of the most “Portlandia” Christmas events is Santacon, an unorganized pub crawl attended by hundreds of participants all dressed as Santa. In fact, in Portland there are actually 3 different Santacon events that take place during December, all ending with a quite a few festive Santas roaming (stumbling?) in the streets.
