This week, there was a bit of bright news among the COVID-19 developments — for the first time in almost 3 months, the Portland Japanese Garden re-opened to the public.
The garden will be following a number of health guidelines to ensure visitors’ health & safety, including one-way paths, timed ticketing/visits, and required use of masks. On-line reservations are required for entry, and shuttle busses with socially-distanced seating will be offered. Importantly, our good friends in the gift shop will be back at work, with limited shopper capacity and plexiglass at checkout.
Amid all the stress and anxiety caused by the current health, economic, and social crises, a visit to the Portland Japanese Garden can provide a very welcome sense of tranquility. We at Hokusei North America are thrilled that the garden is back!
